Kabir Kouba Percussion Academy (l’Académie de percussion Kabir Kouba) was founded in February 2011 in order to put forward intercultural artistic initiatives with the participation of Native and ethno cultural communities established in the Quebec City region.
The Academy’s name, Kabir Kouba, is inspired from the Amerindian name of the waterfall it overlooks. Located at the intersection of Loretteville (in Quebec City), and Wendake (Huron Village), it was founded by Christian Paré Bastien. The Academy brings together artists and collaborators from diverse origins. They reflect Quebec City’s cultural diversity today.
